Tumedei Gulf Rubber has more than 20 years of experience in the design and manufacture of Thin Membrane Diaphragms typically used for leading brand manufacturers of washing machines and dishwashers pressure switches.

New developments and technologies have pushed the boundaries of precision rubber moulding and compounding. This has resulted in today’s products offering more functions, for example sensor switches, water level and climate control, with diaphragms made from compounds as soft as 30 Shore A (silicone, NBR, NR, SBR, EPDM), with low hysteresis, drift and of course sensitivity.

Our diaphragms are 100% visually inspected and subsequently pass a 100% mechanical test, going through a custom designed pressure / vacuum testing unit checking for micro holes and potential leakage, guaranteeing ZERO product defects.

With our composite moulding technology (rubber to plastic), Tumedei also offers new solutions where the rubber diaphragm (membrane body) is bonded with the plastic support plate or a magnetic ferrite. This results in an improved overall performance of sensors or switches (reduced movement lag), additionally reducing inventory, assembly time and costs.

  • Material from 40 to 80 Shore A available but usual applications call for 50 to 60 shore.
  • Low hysteresis, drift and sensitivity of compounds.

  • Hardness can be maintained under certain production conditions within +/-3 shore A. However normal hardness tolerance is usually +/-5 IRHD.
  • Dimensional tolerances can be maintained under certain production conditions below class M1 (ISO3302), some specific applications for which we maintain convolution thickness tolerance of +/-0.025mm.
  • Ability to produce diaphragms bonded with either plastic and/or metal plates or inserts.
  • 100% vacuum tested products.
